Devil's Eye, The

Aroview: Simultaneously at the lighter and weirder ends of the Bergman spectrum, this film sees the Devil send Don Juan from hell to the mortal plane to rob a young bride-to-be of her virginity - however, it's also a comedy. Touches on both the theological themes and relationship politics that Bergman is known for, along with some interludes from a wisecracking narrator played by Gunnar Bjornstrand. The visual representation of hell as a grand mansion with ever-present flames flickering in the background is quite memorable.
