Man Escaped, A
Aroview: Bresson's films are all extremely controlled in style: no suspense, no histrionics, flat acting, spare and simple camerawork, yet this is an exceptionally powerful and gripping escape film, as well as being a testament to the power of absolute faith (the theme of all Bresson's early films - the later ones are about despair), and a perfect, accesssible introduction to the work of one of the film art's most unique and important figures.
