Carlito's Way
Aroview: De Palma contains his usual showy excess and proves he can be a consummate storyteller with this captivating, multi-layered crime yarn.
Al Pacino, too, adds another creditable notch to his belt as the amiable Puerto-Rican gangster while Sean Penn, barely recognisable, makes a memorable screen slimeball. Nice disco soundtrack too.

4 stars (Very Good) ~Wyatt Earp
2 stars (Good Try) Pacino is not too bad in this one but the screenplay, even if it lost half an hour, has been done better elsewhere. ~Tubbs
