USA 1997, 104 minutes
Dir. Jean-Pierre Jeunet
Rating: [R16]
Genres: Science Fiction / Outer Space
Feat. Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder, Ron Perlman
Aroview: Sigourney is back from the dead in part four of the continuing Alien saga, this time in the hands of the French DELICATESSEN helmer who sneaks in as much Gallic drollery as can be sustained by a Hollywood franchise.
Winona Ryder's name might also be above the title but it's Ron Perlman who shows again he's much more than just an ugly face. Hardly a classic, but certainly an improvement on number 3.

3 stars (Good Enough) The series starts to slip, but Weaver is still here, and so are Ryder and Perlman, meaning a decent cast, even if the film is a little overdone (Ripley as a hybrid clone?)! ~Tom H
3 stars (Good Enough) The biggest return to the horror of the first movie, however this is more of a gore based horror than suspense based. Still well directed, and has some incredibly scary scenes, and the most disturbing monster the series has to offer. ~dr.strangelove
3 stars (Good Enough) I really like bits of this, the cast are great and overall the creatures are well done (except for some dodgy CGI). The film looks amazing, but they fall back on too much gross out and not enough "Alien-ness". ~Anon
1 star (Turkey) ~Wyatt Earp
2 stars (Good Try) There isn't a great deal of science fiction but not a bad actioner. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) I love Jean-Pierre Jeunet's direction, and the film boasts an outstanding cast, but somehow this movie misses the mark. It's where the franchise starts to go downhill before a full-on nose dive, but still has some memorable, and very creepy moments. ~trauma_hound412
