Winter Guest, The
Aroview: Emma Thompson ventures to farther-flung fields in a contemporary family melodrama played out within the bleak confines of a wintery British coastal village. Impressing in more serious, chilly environs, she retains her customary charms, due partly to the debut direction of fellow-thesp Alan Rickman, proving a diligent and serious-minded host.
