Monkey Business (1931): Classic Marx Bros fare – heavy on gags and pretty girls, light on plot.
Never Been Kissed (1999): Bubbly, predictable and fun 1990s teen fare.
Cake Eaters, The (2007): Mary Stuart Masterson's feature directorial debut is rather slow and dry. Cover and synopsis obviously reworked to leverage Kristen Stewart's celebrity, despite the story actually being centred on a father (Bruce Dern) and his two sons.
Carrington (1995): The luminescent Emma Thompson is wonderfully fresh–faced in this gentle biopic, detailing a tangle of relationships amongst the Bloomsbury set.
Winter Guest, The (1997): Brr, this is a cold film. I recommend and extra jumper. Good but bleak.
Going the Distance (2010): This is a rarity: a romcom that's actually funny and doesn't involve stalking.
Wit (2003): Exquisite, extraordinary and devastating.
