Greed
Aroview: One of the great silent masterpieces paints a savagely ironical portrait of a mismatched marriage in oldtime San Francisco, ruined through greed of various persuasions, above-all for money. Innovative in its technique (use of camera angles and music) and in creating complex, often bizarre characters. Original 8hr cut was severely trimmed by the studio (and lost forever), but what remains is still potent and compelling, especially the Death Valley finale.
