Aroview: The life of fabled long-distance runner Steve Prefontaine, who died in 1975 at the age of 24 is given a heartfelt glow by Billy Crudup and the estimable dir. Robert Towne (writer of CHINATOWN).

Trips over a few sports-movie conventions as you might expect, but Pre's 'guts-n-glory' ethos is rousing stuff, cheered on by grizzled coach Donald Sutherland.
