Paths of Glory
Aroview: Kubrick's muscular drama deals frankly with the hypocrisy and inhumanity of military ethics, based on a true incident in WWI France. Following a botched strategic manoeuvre, respected Army Sergeant Kirk Douglas (in a career-best performance) becomes caught between the out-of-touch, belligerent command and the 'cowardly' rank-and-file at the front line.
