Polish Wedding

Aroview: Laid on incredibly thick, Polish accents and all, this is 'ethnic shtick' writ large with Gabriel Byrne, Lena Olin and Rade Serbedzija heading a ker-razy Polish family in the rotten suburbs of Detroit. What with having hot tempers and screaming babies all over the place, the next big crisis occurs when daughter Claire Danes is doubtfully cast in the role of virgin in a religious ceremony. The highpoint is surely Olin's unabashed celebration of female fertility, though all the manic migrant energy is rather wearing.
