Aroview: Beset by apathy, uncertainty and her indulgent best friend, a teenage girl falls victim to her own adolescence while trying to complete her final year of high school in New Jersey, 1981. Low-key coming-of-age drama with attentive, anti-nostalgic period detail and a compelling central turn from Lisa Weil evoking a realism rarely seen in adolescent cinema. The post-punk soundtrack is on the money, too.
