Cube
Aroview: More than meets the eye of this enthralling dark-horse B-movie from Canada.
Five strangers find themselves thrown together in a 'Rubik Cube'-like construction, a labyrinthine prison sprung with booby traps, and geared by mathematical code. Overheated performances and trite dialogue just about sink it early on but, much like the cube itself, out of chaos emerges an unpredictable, tightly wound logic that is worthy of its consistently sleek visual design.

4 stars (Very Good) A low-budget suspense/horror title with terrible acting, but such an intriguing premise (adapted since in films such as Saw) that we can't help but be riveted to order to see what the next sadistic cube will hold. ~Tom H
