Aroview: Runaway foreign-language hit clocks up mileage from a simple conceit - flame-haired punkette Lola has twenty minutes to go like the clappers and save her boyfriend from a cruel and untimely fate.
Exploring several fateful possibilities, this boils down the action-thriller to its rawest element, with power-pop visuals, breakneck editing and pounding techno (by the director himself) orchestrated to quite breathless effect. A more brilliant film might be screaming to get out, but, like a chart-topping pop single, it provides a sheer (if guilty) pleasure.
Average rating (Very Good). Showing 1-4 of 4 member reviews.
4 stars (Very Good) Viewing more like an extended music-video than feature film, this colourful romp with Lola is brief, thrilling, sometimes unpredictable, and somehow always entertaining. ~Tom H
4 stars (Very Good) A bit like some of the new video games, except that the viewer has no control. Fate can turn on the smallest of things. Meticulously assembled and without a wasted moment. Takes repeated viewing to make all of the connections ~Anon
4 stars (Very Good) ~Milana
3 stars (Good Enough) The difference in the format of the screenplay from the norm is impressive. ~Tubbs
