Dividing into two distinct parts, split by a short break for fishing, part one sets up the characters, and completely fails to inspire. Part two comprises a nightmarish extended battle between 100-foot-high waves, and the fishermen and rescue crews unlucky enough to meet them head on. Worth watching for some eye-opening computer effects, the director of DAS BOOT providing an oceanic thrill-ride of the first order.
