Aroview: Incoherent horror flick that goes on-line with the plot of Japanese horror film RING, this will be most compared to the American remake of that film, though it bears blatant hallmarks of a cheaper and nastier imitation.

A brash NYC detective (Dorff) and his research assistant (McElhone) trek though fashionably industrial urban grime to uncover the cause behind a series of violent deaths, apparently connected to a website that spells doom within 48 hours to those who log on. With gratuitous ‘dark imagery’ standing in for scares, perhaps the biggest shock is Stephen Rea’s outrageous ham as the villain.
