Rolling Stones - Stones in the Park
Aroview: A filmed record of the famous free concert in Hyde Park, London on July 5th 1969, two days after the death of Stones guitarist Brian Jones.
Over a quarter of a million people gathered in to pay homage to the British group in a performance which includes many of the band's early blues classics like: 'Midnight Rambler', 'Satisfaction', 'I'm Free', 'I'm Yours, She's Mine', 'Jumping Jack Flash', 'Honky Tonk Woman', 'Sympathy for the Devil', and a unique cover of 'Love in Vain'. A fresh faced MIck Taylor joined the band on slide guitar.
While the mono sound quality may put off the purist audiophiles; The film itself is the definitive celebration of london's summer of love. Almost the polar counterpoint to the Maysel's Stone's documentary hellscape "Gimme Shelter" (1970). Keep an eye out for Paul Mccartney in the crowd.
