Football Factory, The

Aroview: Essentially a study of the English obsession with football hooligans, this follows the activities of Chelsea fan Dyer as he spruces his dull weekly life with violent encounters on days off.

When he becomes involved with a woman from Millwall, the stage is set for nasty showdown with this most notorious of all English clubs. Set in a suburban wasteland depicted with shoestring realism, this gets the dreary atmosphere and brooding, masculine bravado just about right, though without perhaps offering the new insights one might expect.
