Southern Comfort
Aroview: A fascinating and compassionate portrait of two transsexuals - a craggy cowboy (born a woman) and a vivacious siren (born a man) - who have found love and home in the back hills of Georgia.
Central is the cowboy, Robert Eads, who here lives out the last year of his life after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Using a fly-on-the-wall style, the film uncovers the web of relationships surrounding the inspirational Eads, and the prejudices against various of society's 'outcasts'. (Shockingly, the US medical profession refused to treat Eads' cancer because he was transsexual.)
