The screenplay was competent enough but needed a bit of urgency at times but there was an attraction in the bad guys Neville Brand, Jack Elam, and one of the greats Lee Van Cleef.
Sägebrecht & Pounder work extremely well together in a screenplay that doesn't lack original ideas. The photography makes great use of colours & the only real negatives are an anti–climatic ending & Palance's character, which is a bit of a spare part.
Competently made with the pacing never quicker than steady – the jewelry break–in felt as if it was shot in real time no doubt to maintain the tension.
