Every shot is a visual feast full of meaning, Jarman's sets are gorgeous. Ken Russell's most blasphemous and notorious, and powerful film is a must watch. Begging for a re–release.
This film is a great example of why having practical effects in horror movies is a good idea. The CGI in this movie is terrible. Plus I've never seen flood water look so crystal clear. It's hard to care about what happens to the characters too.
I like a lot of horror films, I even love some of them. I dislike lot of horror too. But it's not often that a horror film promises so much in the beginning then fails to deliver so badly in the execution. Disappointing.
