Canterbury Tales, The (I Racconti di Canterbury) (1972): Someone who could never be boring, Hugh Griffith, heads a smorgasbord of a European cast.
On the Beach (1959): The sci–fi elements were handled very well e.g. the empty streets. The rest of the screenplay required patience.
It All Starts Today… (1999): A screenplay with a social conscience.
Apocalypse Now (1979): Martin Sheen battles his way up a river over several days and nights with danger on every side – what is his prize at the end of his ordeal? – to be met by Dennis Hopper.
Entertainer, The (1960): A terrific cast, a character study, and an acknowledgment of an era about to pass.
Magic Trip (2011): Too much footage belonged in the "home movie" category, but there was some interest at times.
Aftersun (2022): You wait for the screenplay to take off, and it doesn't, and it is all the better for it.; DVD $29.95 | Blu-Ray $34.95
Little Man (2006): There were a couple of items we could have done without, otherwise, it was hard to dislike.
Requiem for a Dream (2000): Top performances from Burstyn and Connelly (another unattractive role), effective editing, a terrific soundtrack should get the anti drug message through.
Confidential Report (Mr. Arkadin) (1955): Second or third time I've seen this, and the screenplay still doesn't hold the attention, even though the synopsis holds promise.
