Shinjuku Incident (San suk si gin) (2009): The material lacks freshness and Jackie looks a touch out of place.
El Mariachi (1992): The screenplay has more intelligence and restraint than some of his later work.; DVD ~~$15~~ $11.25
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975): A well written bitter/sweet screenplay. The ensemble casting is spot on and the cast are at their best in the therapy scenes which are outstanding.; DVD ~~$24.95~~ $18.70
Anna (2019): It got very repetitive, even silly, and some restraint in the number of murders would have resulted in a more watchable screenplay.; Blu-Ray $24.95
Pearl (2022): It is different and for that reason alone worth a try although not to everyone's taste I wouldn't imagine. Mia Goth does very well.
Machete (2010): Plenty of blood and guts and other stuff. Probably best viewed as a comedy
Apple Tree Yard (TV Mini-series) (2017): The screenplay needs patience but the court scenes are worth waiting for as they are competently handled. On the downside is an annoying unnecessary soundtrack.
Cloverfield Paradox, The (2018): It didn't really take off.
Shopping (1993): The overall result was slightly disappointing considering all the spade work that had been done. However, visually it was very good with some great exterior set designs topped off by a vibrant soundtrack.
Breathless (1983): The street scenes are not too bad and are beautifully shot but most of the action is indoors.
