Spy Kids (2001)
Should appeal to children – plenty of action and the gadgetry is good.
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004)
The screenplay includes the compulsory teenage bitch bully with hangers on but although there is a lack of originality Lohan holds the film together and makes it watchable.
Everybody's Fine (2009)
The light weight script is watchable thanks mainly to the casting but it gets soppy at times.
Dead End (1937)
The tough guy performances from both the older and younger characters are a bit dated and silly 80 years on but the set designs are commendable.
Dead Girl, The (2006)
Toni Collette sets the standard in the opening segment for some compelling female performances to follow climaxing with Brittany Murphy. The screenplay is compact and always interesting.
Morning of the Earth (1972)
Although watching surfing films puts me to sleep this one has some archival value and a good soundtrack.
Knight of Cups (2015)
As much of the dialogue was inaudible it appeared that the Director did not wish his audience to hear what was being said so that it could concentrate on the images. A pity that he didn't also spare us the distraction of the hedonistic characters.
Freaky Friday (2003)
Although its a good plot idea and there are some good scenes it suffers from being a one joke scenario which doesn't maintain interest over the length of the film.
Fighter, The (2010)
Its largely forgettable but it doesn't miss the mark by much and Melissa Leo and Amy Adams deserve a mention for their performances.
Now is Good (2012)
Fanning, Williams and Considine overcome the material and make it watchable for the most part. Irvine is out of his depth however.
