Italian Job, The (2003)
The first heist scenes are the best then what follows depends upon the appeal of the stars. As usual some good stunt people are involved.
Streetcar Named Desire, A (TV mini-series) (1995)
The acting is very noisy. Most interest for me was in how John Goodman fared (not too bad).
Party Girl (Dangerous Business) (1930)
Preachy and unfortunately shot in its entirety in the studio but there is a definite curiosity value and worth the hour to watch.
Salt (2010)
One of the silliest screenplays out there but as usual you can't fault the stunt people. In the making of Noyce describes Jolie as a great dramatic actress which I thought was pushing it a bit.
Then She Found Me (2007)
Helen, Bette and Colin are very watchable leads but the interest of the story weakens toward its end.
Irrational Man (2015)
Allen churns out another but at least in this one he attempts a bit of black comedy (passable). As usual there is plenty of talking.
Don't Look Back - Bob Dylan (1967)
The musical numbers are fine. The backstage scenes are valuable historical footage because of the status of the characters but would be mundane otherwise.
99 Homes (2014)
It's worth watching for the performance of Michael Shannon as unfortunately the talented Laura Dern is under used. The screenplay is a worthy idea but it is all a bit too neat and tidy to be totally convincing. Part of the NZFF 2015.
Gamer (2009)
There were some interesting segments but there were also too many "action" segments which were just boring as their ilk had been done so many times elsewhere.
Black Sheep (2006)
Achieves the right degree of silliness in the script and in the over acting.
