Top Five (2014)
Rock can be a bit of an annoying motormouth and there is little respite at times.
Definitely, Maybe (2008)
Except for the kid having an irritating voice all the actors are nice and the story line is nice. Waste of time really.
Brooklyn's Finest (2009)
With that cast it should have been better – could have seen more of Ellen Barkin. Some good street scene location "shooting". Action fans might be happy with the body count and that every second person is a Mother F.
Stepford Wives, The (1975)
A portrait of deprived America – the plot slowly unfolds etc.– its well performed by a seasoned cast – the photography is easy on the eye.
St Martin's Lane (Sidewalks of London) (1938)
An enthralling performance from Laughton. The film makes an interesting comparison between the established musical theatre and (does it borrow from?)free form busking. The street scenes and the busking segments are nostalgic and captivating.
Country Bears, The (2002)
The characters are a bit over gimmicky at times but the bluesy music and some Christopher Walken gets it through.
Storm in a Teacup (1937)
The success of this comedy lies in its simple plot and its believable characters. The pompous Cecil Parker is the standout.
Maggie (2015)
It didn't hold the attention this time but on another day it might. Refreshing to see Arnie in a restrained mood (most of the time). Not original but then not a total clone because of its pacing mainly.
Red Dragon (2002)
The plot was unconvincing. There is a strong combined British and American cast but most of the screen time is taken up by Norton.
Pat and Mike (1952)
The sporting segments are interesting and some good editing portrays Hepburn as the real thing. The repartee is fine.
