Mad Money (2008)
Maltin says this is a remake of "Hot Money" (2001) so no marks for that but worth it for Keaton (as always) especially and Latifah.
Big Bounce, The (2003)
Its not as bad as it looks – Wilson is not too bad in this and not irritating for once – having Morgan Freeman in a number of his scenes probably helps. There are some good cameos that add interest.
Stepford Wives, The (2004)
Not perfect but it has a strong plot idea and a Director who has ideas of his own plus a strong cast in Kidman, Close and Walken in particular.
Fifty Dead Men Walking (2008)
Doesn't really stand apart from all the other political torture/ murder films.
New In Town (2009)
Bit of a waste of time as the comedy aspect was non existent.
Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken (1991)
Gabrielle is fine and cements the film with old hand Robertson adding interest. The romantic interest slows the film and we could have done with it – he is a bit of a drip anyway. The production values were very good and the plot okay.
Two of Us, The (Le Vieil Homme et l'Enfant) (1967)
A lovely slice of life that has an air of authenticity. The director sets the scene in occupied territory and leaves it to the viewer to determine how serious the threats from the enemy are. Simon plays an Alf Garnett type character wonderfully well.
Young Guns (1988)
Terence Stamp was taken out early and with him much of the interest. The violence dominates thereafter and is tasteless.
You're Not You (2014)
The two female leads are fine and the film would have been better off without the males. Marcia Gay Harden underused – the plot's a bit melodramatic at times.
Finest Hour (2002)
A good mixture of Churchill's propaganda and how it really was from eyewitnesses at the sharp end. "Finest Hour" was Churchill's phrase – a rallying call – whereas the working class who took the brunt used words like "cock up" but muddled through.
