Heist (2001)
Too many routine bits. A tighter script would have brought the plot twists closer together and they would have had more effect.
Dumb and Dumber To (2014)
I was able to get through it mainly because of Jeff Daniels.
Cold in July (2014)
Worthy of a second watch – I watched it a second time and still can't make up my mind about it. It is better than a lot of its type but falls short of being very good but I don't know why.
Hour of the Gun (1967)
The opening scenes are very good but then it loses its impact and becomes routine when Earp starts his killing spree. Robert Ryan the highlight but underused.
Once Upon a Time in China 3 (1993)
A run of the mill martial arts actioner with the odd comedic touch.
Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon (2013)
One of those nod and a wink documentaries but there is the odd good segment particularly on Alice Cooper.I had never heard of Gordon and have no particular wish to find out more about him.
Night and Day (1946)
Totally forgettable film – this musical genius deserved much better.
Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, The (2000)
It is different and shouldn't really fail with the cast it has.
It's a Disaster (2012)
Very watchable and a good attempt to put some originality into proceedings.
Women, The (2008)
As expected there's plenty of talking and "Oh My Gods". Ryan is comfortable in her role, Bening has a screen presence and Cloris Leachman shows how its done. The characters are too well healed to be interesting.
