Hunger (2008)
Goes for authenticity and achieves it in spades – it should stand the test of time.
Privilege (1967)
Loses a bit of impetus toward the end but a film that can only be admired for not following formula. According to the extra stuff Watkins studied Koenig's short film "Lonely Boy" (1962) on Paul Anka prior to filming.
Face to Face (1976)
According to other reviews we need to watch the Swedish mini–series rather than this truncated version. The dubbing doesn't help but Ullmann is still impressive.
Across the Bridge (1957)
Interesting plot twists. Good acting all round but all are out –staged by Doris (according to the excellent "Making Of" she was found in a pound).
How to Be a Serial Killer (2008)
Tries hard and not the worst effort around.
Tammy (2014)
The terrific cast do justice to a well written script. Its actually funny.
Zombie Holocaust (1979)
Interesting interview with Roy Frumkes on bonus features who tells how this is a blend of more than one film. AKA Dr Butcher MD & other titles. Acting and action scenes are amateurish but who cares – the make up and horror are classy.
Walking With Dinosaurs - The Movie (2013)
Excellent way of getting the message across.
Remember the Titans (2000)
The story suffers from disneyfication and is worn out anyway but Washington (without a gun for once) and Patton are okay.
My Best Friend's Girl (2008)
Cook is a male arsehole but Kate Hudson as usual is worth watching.
