Generation Iron (2013)
Main interest is in the unfamiliarity to most of us of this other sport. They seem nice enough guys – thank god.
Track of the Cat (1954)
Does not hold the attention but does not follow any formula which is a plus. Some good location shooting when you are allowed out of the house.
Hercules (2014)
The special effects were okay as was the casting of a terrific British supporting cast.
Escape from Alcatraz (1979)
Well cast – the scenario as depicted seemed believable.
Under the Cherry Moon (1986)
Bit of an oddball. It leaves no impression – maybe someone else directing the star would have helped.
Staircase, The (TV Mini-series) (Soupcons) (2004)
Have to admire the tenacity of director and the editor who cut it down from a million minutes.A marathon watch but at the end I didn't really care whether he was guilty or not.Bonus documentary "Death on the Staircase" sums it up very well in 40 mins.
Racing with the Moon (1984)
A young Penn and Cage before they develop being annoying into an art form. Not much to the story.
Therese and Isabelle (1968)
Slowly paced and told mainly in flashback – some good moments but will appeal more to the romantic.
GI Jane (1997)
Just gets silly and boring.Anne Bancroft is fine though.
Thirteen Days (2001)
Another Costner film which is shot in real time. As a dramatisation its okay but a documentary treatment would have been preferable.
