Drummer, The (Zhan. gu) (2007): It plays like two films bundled together. The Zen segments are well worth watching and it gets another credit for keeping the violence to a minimum.
Little Romance, A (1979): Diane Lane does well but the boy needed a kick up the bum. The uneven screenplay is helped along by a good supporting cast and some shots of Venice.
An American Werewolf in Paris (1997): How did Julie Delpy get caught up in this? At least the screenplay picks up when the werewolf appears.
Long John Silver (1950): Robert Newton has a bit of a field day and is a good reason for giving this a try.
Waru (2017): Not unusual with this kind of format the quality differs from segment to segment but the better ones make it worthwhile.
Ninja Wars (Iga ninpûchô) (1982): There is a bit of this and a bit of that – overall it is not great but it is entertaining enough.
Volunteers (1985): The material is only modest and even John Candy struggles to get anything out of it.
Chaos Walking (2021): It could have utilised the concept of hearing each other's thoughts a bit better than it did – although translating the concept to film doesn't necessarily make for an easy viewing experience.
Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007): Musically it is not very strong but the artwork and the period's set designs more than compensate. The casting of Depp, Carter, Rickman, and Spall is hard to resist.; DVD ~~$20~~ $15
Summerland (2019): The screenplay doesn't quite last the distance but it is very good for the most part. The Sussex locations are a shoe in as is the casting of Gemma and Tom Courtenay.; DVD $29.95
