Stay
Aroview: A New York psychiatrist (McGregor) is drawn into a strange, hallucinatory world when he tries to prevent a disturbed, seemingly prescient young artist (Gosling) from committing suicide as his "last great work".
In the process he finds enigmatic characters, girlfriends and family of the patient drifting through his life, as facets of a puzzle-box narrative with more than a few echoes of David Lynch's MULHOLLAND DRIVE (not least courtesy of Watts). Shot with a certain vibrating, high-edged style, this pulls off a surprisingly surprising final twist, though at times feels anchored in little more than youthful angst.
