Aroview: A young Rabbi-in-training struggles with the oppression of the strict Hasidic-Jewish faith, tail-spinning into a world of porn shops and peepshows in pursuit of forbidden intimacy. Complimenting Leslie’s powerful central performance, dir. Krawitz’s economical and intensely focused character study convinces particularly as a mature and restrained approximation of extreme conservative religion and its alienating effects.
