Kon-Tiki
“A visually impeccable, professionally crafted modern vessel.”~Variety
Aroview: A rousing dramatisation of the 1947 voyage of the legendary Kon-Tiki, a balsa-wood raft lead across the Pacific by Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl to prove his theory that Polynesia was colonised by South Americans.
An old-fashioned pioneering adventure with well-staged, visceral sequences of blonde, bronzed men up against the ravages of nature, though considering the magnitude of the 4,300 mile voyage, the crew are never fully put through their paces and the script is lean on personal politics. Extravagant Norwegian production was filmed in both Norwegian and English, though only the English version is available here.
