Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
“Burton has thrown everything at the wall and then carefully sculpted what has slithered down into a rollicking yet disciplined supernatural caper with a heart.”~Sophie Monks Kaufman, IndieWire
Aroview: Tim Burton’s 36-years-later sequel might be a retread, but it offers plenty of dazzling design and ghoulish gags that hit more than they miss. Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara don’t look all that different under their layers of make-up, while Gen-Z it-girl Jenny Ortega (from Burton’s TV show, Wednesday), Euro-sexpot Monica Bellucci, and slimeball Justin Theroux join in the fun.
After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter, Astrid, accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife.
