Aroview: Closely modelled on the exploits of Ed Gein (whose notoriety also inspired PSYCHO and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), Roberts Blossom is all-too-believable as the middle-aged loner who keeps his dead mother 'alive' by grafting on the freshly flayed skin of unsuspecting victims. Small-town pace and competent, low-key execution compound the skin-crawling effect. Tape comes with a bonus 'making-of' short. Make-up effects by Tom Savini.
