House of 1000 Corpses
Aroview: A gut-churning, schlocky homage by rock-singer Rob Zombie (of White Zombie fame) to the underground 'gore' films of the 1960s and 70s.
The story starts with two college couples on holiday, accidentally stumbling into the isolated dwelling of a family of cannibals, but quickly mishmashes into a gleefully bloody parody of Hooper, Gordon-Lewis and Craven. With plenty of insane (and inane) moments, this will satiate those who wish for a ride on a merry-go-round of sick humour.

2 stars (Good Try) This debut feature film from Zombie may be nightmarish and bloody, but it lacks structure and coherence, the latter half of the film in particular coming across more like a disjointed collection of horror clips. That said, it is strangely frightening. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) The screenplay is a tad untidy but it is never boring. ~Tubbs
