Pollock
Aroview: The life of ‘Abstract Expressionist’ painter Jackson Pollock, is rendered with bold, heartfelt strokes by dir. Harris in his debut effort (also playing the lead).
Beset by alcoholism, mental illness and an abrasive personality, this traces the troubled man’s rise to greatness in 1940s New York when he created his famous ‘drip paintings’. His loyal partner, Marcia Gay Harden, provides a fiesty contrast to Pollock’s sufferings, with the NYC art-world an interesting backdrop.
