Mrs. Caldicot's Cabbage War

Aroview: Pauline Collins (SHIRLEY VALENTINE) plays an elderly widow who is shunted into a resthome by her money grubbing offspring, who don’t count on her staging a mini-revolution.

Appalled by conditions at her new residence, she organises a boycott of the cabbage-heavy meals the residents must endure, leading to more acts of general disobedience. Makes some valuable comments about society’s general lack of respect for the aged, though the overall tone is cut with feelgood humour and pathos. Adapted from Vernon Coleman’s novel.
