Hulk
Aroview: The thinking person's superhero actioner, this boldly revises the 1960s Marvel Comics icon, a mild-mannered scientist who, when triggered or taunted, expands into a raging, bright green revenger.
As directed by Ang Lee (CROUCHING TIGER) this curse of a 'super-power' is joined to a story of unrequited love, an Oedipal complex, ecological issues and a military showdown in an ambitious, yet overboiled plot. Ignoring the action-movie roadmap, this strays towards some fine ideas, with a bravura 'comic-strip' filmic style, even if it must strive to ignore some hulking great plot-holes.
