American Woman (2018)
One powerhouse performance with an excellent supporting cast being the cream on top.
Night of the Hunter, The (1955)
It has genuine suspense even after rewatches and 60+ years. There are some great black and white performances from Mitchum, Winters, and Gish plus you can imagine the camera work influencing directors like Tim Burton.
It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
There is a whining voice in most scenes that threatens to destroy the film & it gets worse when it turns hysterical in the later stages. Although the screenplay is soppy in parts this is a great chance to see Barrymore, Mitchell, Travers, & Grahame et.al.
Goya's Ghosts (2006)
The cruelty and stupidity of religious hypocrisy have been thrashed to death on film quite a number of times so it would have been better if this had have more focus on something intelligent.
Girl on the Train, The (2016)
The screenplay is overly complicated and it confuses itself but there is some compensation in Emily's performance.
Mermaid, The (2016)
Suspend belief, sit back, and enjoy.
Pushing Daisies (TV Series) (2007-2008)
The scope of the comedy is pretty limited and there is not much variety but it might grow on you.
Sunchaser, The (1996)
From the 20 minute mark, the screenplay becomes quite loose and doesn't really cover any new ground (metaphorically speaking considering it is a road movie).
Child 44 (2015)
Great casting but the chance to make an interesting screenplay based on a time and place not too often in the limelight is missed.
In the Electric Mist (2009)
The Director's Cut should reveal what is missing from this version of the screenplay but this casting, particularly Goodman, is hard to ignore. Unsurprisingly the soundtrack is bluesy.- DVD
