One True Thing (1998)
Over sentimental commercial fodder.
Best in Show (2000)
The comedy style will probably not stand up well to repeated viewings but it deserves to be seen at least once.
Servant, The (1963)
A good example of a top screenwriter's work put in the hands of the right director and then performed by a spot on cast – in this case, Bogarde, Fox, Craig, and Miles.
Halloween 3 - Season of the Witch (Halloween III) (1982)
There is an interesting soundtrack plus some eye catching/gouging moments. It is not great but it is not a total clone either and worth a chance.
Inherent Vice (2014)
You suspect the screenplay was made to be as difficult to follow as possible but surprisingly even considering its length it was still watchable. For me, that came down to the compulsory casting of JP in the lead.
Starman (1984)
Pure fantasy but intelligent and entertaining. It should not date too quickly.
Zentropa (Europa) (1991)
There are some memorable bleak scenes particularly early in the film but the generally interesting screenplay lost its impetus about two–thirds of the way through. The running time needed to be a shade shorter.
Man to Man with Dean Learner (TV Series) (2006)
The material is not particularly strong but it has some original aspects and it should find an audience.
Missing, The (2003)
The title refers to originality in the screenplay.
Thirteenth Tale, The (2013)
The ingredients were there, and although worth the watch, it really failed to deliver as much as it should have.
