Benny and Joon (1992): Joon's mental condition is handled very well by the screenplay. Depp playing Sam shows he has a real feel for the silent comedians. This is a romantic comedy that does justice to both genres.
Matchstick Men (2003): If you don't mind Cage catching fire a bit too often it is watchable. Alison Lohman plays a 14–year–old and does well.
Usual Suspects, The (1995): If had have shown a bit more restraint with the body count, the screenplay would have been up there with some of the best. Whatever its shortcomings however the casting was always going to be a saving grace.
Postcards from the Edge (1990): The screenplay is okay but the two leads are the ones who make it worthwhile.
Born Into Brothels (Calcutta's Red Light Kids) (2004): Sincerely made – you wonder what happened to these girls in their years ahead.
Babel (2006): The stories are fine with that featuring Adriana Barraza the most compelling. The soundtrack is excellent.
Vita and Virginia (2018): A solid screenplay with performances to match and the set design and wardrobe people can take a bow.
Late Night (2019): The best bits are early in the piece before you get the feeling that this is going on a bit too long.
Last of the Mohicans, The (1992): It is easy on the eye and the casting is more than useful.; DVD $19.95 | Blu-Ray $29.95
Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008): It is one of the better films about fourteen year old girls thanks in no small part to the lead performance of Georgia Groome.
