Shrink (2009)
You wouldn't expect films about psychiatrists to be interesting but at least Spacey makes this watchable.
Tangled (2010)
The animation is not spectacular but does its job in the telling of this at times amusing tale.
Kids World (1999)
It has a serious touch in regards to epilepsy but otherwise it is an enjoyable fantasy. I will watch Christopher Lloyd anytime.
St. Vincent (2014)
Verges on soppiness but doesn't quite get there. The characters are interesting & the performances are good enough not to be upstaged by a well cast Murray. McCarthy a surprise but its the kid's performance that could have ruined the film but doesn't.
Mighty, The (Freak the Mighty) (1997)
It doesn't quite avoid sentimentality but its mostly forgiven because of the performances. The kids are good but there is a very competent adult cast in Anderson, Stone, Gandolfini,Stanton, Loaf et al.Terrific soundtrack.
Death to Smoochy (2002)
I really don't know what the talented Catherine Keener is doing in this.
Happy Gilmore (1996)
Its unnecessarily crude in parts which hinders one's appreciation of the passable comedy segments that follow.
Talk of Angels (1999)
Good production values but the story telling is stodgy and is not helped by the romantic bits.
3:10 To Yuma (2007)
Crowe is convincing in this one. In between the mayhem there are quite a number of pontification segments but in the end the body count gets out of hand and is just plain silly.
5 Days Of War (2011)
Journalists caught in the crossfire has been dramatised much better in earlier conflicts – has usual murdering of civilians included to shock audience.
