Love is Strange (2014): It takes its time – the performances from the three leads are spot on – the end credits are scored perfectly.
Van Gogh (1991): There is a reasonable balance between biography (with a few snippets of other painters) and a slice of (easy on the eye) provincial life. Some no nonsense editing keeps the story moving. Acting honours to Gerard Sety as Gachet.
Hatchet For The Honeymoon (1970): I couldn't imagine Bava ever being boring.
Flipper (1963): You wish Chuck would put his shirt on – even if its only to promote sun protection.
xXx (2002): Some good stunt work.
Eden (2012): Bastards.
Lizzie McGuire Movie, The (2002): I didn't grow up with kids that have been disneyfide – my friends had runny noses and farted.
Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel (2009): An eye opener for me even if the documentary might not be impartial. At least he's not as hypocritical as some of his detractors.
Defiance (2008): Far too long for the material – a half hour documentary would have sufficed.
Magic in the Moonlight (2014): Its the type of film that the British excel in. This one is well mounted but not that interesting. Eileen Atkins is the acting highlight (again).
