Love is StrangeLove is Strange (2014)Aro Favourite
3 stars (Good Enough) It takes its time – the performances from the three leads are spot on – the end credits are scored perfectly.
Van GoghVan Gogh (1991)Recommended
4 stars (Very Good) There is a reasonable balance between biography (with a few snippets of other painters) and a slice of (easy on the eye) provincial life. Some no nonsense editing keeps the story moving. Acting honours to Gerard Sety as Gachet.
Hatchet For The HoneymoonHatchet For The Honeymoon (1970)
3 stars (Good Enough) I couldn't imagine Bava ever being boring.
FlipperFlipper (1963)
2 stars (Good Try) You wish Chuck would put his shirt on – even if its only to promote sun protection.
xXxxXx (2002)
2 stars (Good Try) Some good stunt work.
EdenEden (2012)
2 stars (Good Try) Bastards.
Lizzie McGuire Movie, TheLizzie McGuire Movie, The (2002)
2 stars (Good Try) I didn't grow up with kids that have been disneyfide – my friends had runny noses and farted.
Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and RebelHugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel (2009)
3 stars (Good Enough) An eye opener for me even if the documentary might not be impartial. At least he's not as hypocritical as some of his detractors.
DefianceDefiance (2008)
2 stars (Good Try) Far too long for the material – a half hour documentary would have sufficed.
Magic in the MoonlightMagic in the Moonlight (2014)
2 stars (Good Try) Its the type of film that the British excel in. This one is well mounted but not that interesting. Eileen Atkins is the acting highlight (again).
