Ghost and Mrs. Muir, The (1947)
Some delightful moments in a good story line. The distinctive voice of George Sanders a bonus as are the seascapes.
Bronco Billy (1980)
Some delightful moments – a bitter sweet film portraying a form of entertainment struggling to survive.
Jezebel (1938)
Mainly a drawing room drama which is now a bit dated after some of the more recent BBC literary productions. The ensemble acting and costumes are fine and the yellow fever helps.
Rio Grande (1950)
The b & w is easy on the eye.Chill Wills is good in a character part but Maureen O is subdued and wasted. The last couple of scenes are out of a boys magazine and are laughable.
Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead (1996)
Uneven. Works best when Walken, Buscemi or Lloyd are involved but there are some other good supporting actors.
Maitresse (1976)
It lacks any real substance and becomes just one encounter after another.
Open Range (2003)
Another 2hr plus Costner movie .Locations are good to look at & the "final" shoot out is well done but then goes on for another half hour. Then the final final scene goes on and on & is romantic Hollywood – not only is it not required its embarrassing.
Fog, The (1980)
Reasonable tension created – has a pretty useful cast. Some effective visual effects.
Tall T, The (1957)
No frills – well written – good performances with Henry Silva making a good psycho. A top western.
Gladiator, The (1986)
Doesn't have much to recommend it.
