4 stars (Very Good) One of the darkest comedies you will ever experience, and still standing as Jean-Pierre's evil masterpiece. ~Tom H
4 stars (Very Good) A post-apocalyptic society where food is so rare it's used as currency. The owner of an apartment building, with a delicatessen below, likes to prepare the odd delicacy for his quirky tenants. Visually outstanding, bizarrely funny & highly memorable! ~GenXGirl
4 stars (Very Good) Shows that cannibalism can be fun! ~JohnSpecialK
4 stars (Very Good) Hilarious, tongue-in-cheek horror spoiled by faux-fog light that obscures. The brown tones suit the story but details are often lost. Ending a bit corny but the roof aerial fight and old lady's T.V. is one of the great scenes of cinema. ~rakau
4 stars (Very Good) A film that I remember as much for the amazing sound as for anything else. Worth seeing (and hearing) again and again. ~Toothpickdog
4 stars (Very Good) Jeunet showing what a "Jeunet film" is early on. Oddball characters, rube-goldberg devices, hideous faces, and a firm belief in the goodness of the average Joe. One of the better dystopian scifi films around. ~Pop&Coffee
5 stars (Exceptional) The use of the different parts of the building as the cornerstone of the action, coupled with the smoky coloured (sepia?) filming, was well conceived. There was never a dull moment. ~Tubbs
