Aroview: Surrealist comic marvel distinguished by the most bizarre of plots - washed-up puppeteer John Cusack's new position as a filing clerk leads to the discovery of a 'portal' that enables him to enter the body of actor John Malkovich(!).
Geared by its own internal logic and sustained by countless sub-ideas that keep popping out of its woodwork, this is seemingly conceived out of a strange dream that someone was obsessed enough to memorise, foolhardy enough to materialise, and genius enough to make work. For those jaded by the predictability of most contemporary cinema, this comes as a comprehensive antidote.

4 stars (Very Good) Very strange film based on the idea of entering the body of the one and only John Malkovich (until a particularly memorable scene featuring hundreds), this is a an intriguing fantasy premise, if a little too bizarre at times to be fully realised on film. ~Tom H
4 stars (Very Good) A really bizarre film, but it works for the most part, with one brilliant scene when Malkovich enters Malkovich's mind and Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich.... ~Wizzums
2 stars (Good Try) ~mproctornz
3 stars (Good Enough) Screenplay has a bit of Lewis Carroll about it - Floor 7.5 a great idea as is entering someone's head but that's the peak & its too early - after that the fantasy becomes less interesting. Cusack & Keener do well & Diaz has a part that requires acting. ~Tubbs
