American Film Theatre - The Maids

Aroview: Atmospheric, though slightly muted version of Jean Genet's notorious play, itself based on a notorious French murder case, where two maids immersed in a torrid affair killed their employer.

Jackson and York are excellent as the two lovers circling and egging each other on to the final act. Genet's powerfully cynical vision of humanity is apparent throughout.
