Assistant, The (2019): Julia Garner was terrific in the demanding "Ozark" (2017–22) and she doesn't let her fans down in this understated role. The office situation as portrayed was very believable.
Agent Cody Banks 2 (Destination London) (2004): Cody Banks was a bit annoying and it probably would have been better without him.
First Cow (2019): The design work for the time and place looks to be spot on as is the pacing of the screenplay. The terrific soundtrack is used sparingly but intelligently.; DVD $29.95
Gettin' Square (2003): Spall heads a very good cast of character actors but it is Wenham that steals the show.
Blackfellas (Day of the Dog) (1992): The screenplay offers no surprises but it is not without interest.
Old Joy (2006): The best bits are where the scriptwriter is unemployed.
Herself (2020): A very good first half is followed by one that uses common ground. However, Clare Dunne's performance is worthy of attention throughout.; DVD $29.95
Blancanieves (2012): The production is a delightful change. The characters, especially the evil Encarna, are all very well performed, and the bullfighting segments are extremely well handled.
Rampart (2011): Whilst Harrelson's obnoxious character dominates the film, and it doesn't make for easy viewing, the production has attracted a very fine cast and its uncommercial approach deserves credit.
Swimmer, The (1968): The plot idea is fresh but the script at times is pretty ordinary.
