Bullet Train (2022)
There is a familiarity to it from start to go – a casual approach to violence and death with comedy thrown in. The early James Bonds did it well and with a touch of class.
Sapphire (1959)
An interesting slice of time screenplay with a very solid selection of character actors.
Elvis (2022)
The Parker character got a bit lost in the two and a half hours which was some relief. The soundtrack was pretty good, especially in the early blues influenced days.
Fall (2022)
Idiots.
Lancaster (2022)
It is good the have these eyewitness accounts in the archive.
Little Nellie Kelly (1940)
There are a couple of very good songs sung by one of the best around at the time. The screenplay has a fantasy element and the odd comedy scene – overall it is okay but not great.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (1941)
It has Lombard but little else.
Notte, La (The Night) (1961)
The empty characters become tiresome after a while but the outdoor locations are wonderfully shot – everything from traffic jams to derelict sections and buildings.
Colour of Pomegranates (Color of Pomegranates) (1969)
Art House.
Crash (1996)
I remember the film's impact on release. A different kind of screenplay with the right cast to do the job. Great work by a busy makeup team left many a scar.
